Protect homes from flooding
Prioritize canal cleaning and maintenance schedules, improve pump and drainage infrastructure, and seek grants for flood-mitigation projects.
Leadership that listens, unites people and turns community challenges into practical results.

Luis Pedraza believes people should have real opportunities to grow and an active voice in decisions that affect their quality of life.
“More participation, more solutions, better results.”
The campaign is centered on the specific challenges residents expect the South Broward Drainage District to address.
Prioritize canal cleaning and maintenance schedules, improve pump and drainage infrastructure, and seek grants for flood-mitigation projects.
Publish drainage project updates online, make district spending easier to understand, and increase public participation at meetings.
Create a simple online reporting system and improve communication with the community during storms and weather emergencies.
Evaluate aging pump stations and existing structures, then develop long-term renewal and replacement plans.
Work closely with Broward County cities, including Miramar and Pembroke Pines, to address recurring flooding hotspots together.
More consistent cleaning, vegetation control, inspections, and preventive maintenance instead of waiting until residents complain or problems become emergencies.
